Dell C2665dnf with Big Sur (MacOS 11.2)

With Big Sur, the printer function worked, no problem, but the laptop would not even acknowledge the existence of the scanner. I tried all kinds of things (VueScan, Gutenprint, HP Drivers, Samsung Drivers, etc.) but nothing worked,

Finally this morning, I got the scanner to work!

Here's what I did: I removed my printer from the system & deleted all the print drivers in the Library (I had installed several different things trying to make it work), then restarted the laptop.

I downloaded the Dell C2665dnf driver dated August 2020. Inside that pkg are the printer installer, the scan installer, and the fax installer. When I tried to run the printer installer, Big Sur refused to run it, saying the developer needed to update it. I went to System Preferences>Security & Privacy and said "Open it anyway", then ran it. After that, I did the same thing with the scanner installer. (I don't use fax, so didn't bother with that installer.)

THEN I re-added the printer -- which now shows it using "Bonjour - Multifunction" rather than just "Bonjour" -- and now my laptop sees the scanner & now everything works!

I'm still keeping a USB drive near the printer, just in case!

Hello, if you speak french, you can see an article on https://avis-imprimante.fr/ who try to help the people having the same problem as you. You can also talk with Aplle support, indeed many BigSur users have big problem for printing since this update.

We should definitely make sure all users, English-speaking or not, can find the solution to this. Thank you, @CCecileB, for posting the French link!

(Maybe the solution I posted above could be translated and posted there?)

The french link above is either the wrong one or it is simply spam. I checked the page and I cannot find any relevant information there at all. Looks for me like a typical adfarm page.

Eep! I didn't check out the link (since I'm not fluent in French) -- SORRY! Mea culpa!
