Dell B1265dfw scanning

I have a Dell B1265dfw Mono MFP, on a modern pc running Windows 10 64bit. The device is connected by USB cable.

Downloaded all drivers from dell.com website.

Installed Dell Printer Manager program (version 01.03.42.01(12-11-2014)

I open Dell Printer Manager -> Scan, then Scan Assistant is opened ( which is version 1.04.52 (18-12-2014), followed by an error message: 

" De gevraagde afbeelding kon niet worden gescand. Controleer of uw scanner op de juiste manier is aangesloten. Als uw systeem over onvoldoende geheugen beschikt, probeer dan de resolutie of het formaat van de afbeelding te verlagen."

 

Question: how can this be resolved? So that I can use scanning?

Is there any alternative program I can use for scanning? 

Is it mandatory to use LAN cable connection in stead of USB?
