Dell B1160 won't pull paper

So I got a used Dell B1160. It didn't have toner when I got it, so I put in a new toner (3rd party, of course) I was able to successfully print a test page and then immediately sold it on eBay.

The guy on ebay says it gives him a paper jam error. I have him send it back and yep, sure enough there's a paper jam error. I shake it and whack it with my hand and a small piece of what looks like construction paper comes out through the back of the paper feed. I get it out and it still won't pull paper.

I try to print a test page and it doesn't even TRY to print -- the rollers don't even spin. Any ideas???

FWIW, I *did* update the firmware, but it didn't help.

It's possible that there is still a small piece of paper or debris stuck in the paper feed path, which is preventing the printer from picking up paper. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Remove the paper tray and any paper in the printer.

Inspect the paper feed path for any debris or pieces of paper that may be stuck. You can use a flashlight to get a better view.

If you find any debris, use a pair of tweezers or a damp cloth to remove it.

Reinsert the paper tray and plug in the printer.

Turn on the printer and try printing a test page.

If the issue persists, you may need to clean the paper feed rollers. Here are the steps to do that:

Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Remove the paper tray and any paper in the printer.

Dampen a lint-free cloth with water or rubbing alcohol.

Locate the paper feed rollers in the printer.

Gently wipe the rollers with the damp cloth, rotating them as you go to clean all sides.

Reinsert the paper tray and plug in the printer.

Turn on the printer and try printing a test page.If the issue still persists after trying both of these steps, it's possible that there may be a hardware issue with the printer and it may need to be serviced or replaced.

I have a Dell B1160W printer and there is a small piece of paper stuck behind the grey roller that is behind the spring. and behind the middle of the grey anodised bar that runs across the printer. I just can't dislodge the paper, and it is compressed and stuck. Does anyone know if I can I remove the two screws that secure the anodised bar. and will this then free the roller mechanism and get me access behind to retrieve the paper?  If not any other solutions? Not one will repair these printers so it is DIY. cheers Milo
