Dell AIO 966 Printer
ello - first, let me ask if there is a fee involved to belong to the Dell Community? next, as a loyal Dell customer, I just recently got a Dell Inspiron One wireless computer. My question is: can the Dell AIO 966 Printer be used as a "wired" printer with this wireless computer by plugging the USB Printer cable into one of the USB ports on the Inspiron One Wireless computer? (I'm not interested in getting a wireless Etheron connector for the Dell 966 and trying to connect it wirelessly, on the blog there are too many problems about it working fine while "wired" but not as a wireless). So....can I still use the Dell 966 AIO by plugging the USB printer cable into the Inspiron One USB port??? Please advise, thanks a lot.

beachgirlpgh,
Yes, this printer has wireless capabilities.
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode Choose new installation, network and follow the instructions.
Links to the patch/drivers can be found at...

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

beachgirlpgh,
No fee, advice is FREE.
Was the printer wireless on your network? If yes and you have a desktop computer, if you have the desktop plugged in to the wireless router, you can print to the printer using the wireless connection.
You want the printer connected using the usb cable or the wireless option? If wireless, make and model of your wireless router and the type of security you're using? What channel?
Make and model of your computer and operating system? 32-bit or 64-bit? What virus program and firewall are you using?

beachgirlpgh,
The patch is a printer cleanup utility built for this printer. It helps to remove the printer completely.
