DELL 968w AIO Windows 10

Hello!

After following instructions posted here, I was able to get my DELL 968 working with WIn 10 (Vista 64 mode). Yesterday an update of Win 10 pushed through, and now it will not work again. Any ideas?

calliopejoe,

You can click the link below for information using a Driver from another OS to install in Windows 10.

I did these steps, and the update made the printer inoperable. Any ideas?

calliopejoe,

Most Windows 10 systems are 64-bit.

Try this procedure and see if the printer installs.

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode you’ll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time (powered on).

Links to the drivers can be found at…

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

I have followed these steps several times. I have gotten the printer to work with WIN 10, but then after it restarts, the same problem of NO COMMUNICATION again. I think there is something going on when WIN 10 attempts to auto-detect and install drivers, it maybe overwrites what I have done in the steps?

Since there are not any recent posts, I think that many people are simply trashing these old printers. Please advise.

calliopejoe,

Try checking your virus program and firewall.

Try removing all the computers and see if that helps. Removing computers from printer scan list
