Dell 725 Printer driver

Hi All, I have a Dimension 1100/B110 that was running slow and freezing over the past few weeks. I put it into a local computer shop to get it sorted and just came back today. He removed all my drivers and I am now having problems with my printer as I cannot find any drivers on the Dell site that will support a Dell 725 inkjet with a Windows XP operating system. I seem to be going round in circles on the Dell site and I dont want to download loads of stuff that I do not require. Can anyone point me in the right directions for a driver for my printer? I know my system is old but it is only for home use and not sure if there is any support for it now.

Thanks

Dave

Dave,

See if these drivers work.

Hi Dave,

Insert the printer driver’s cd for a Dell 725 printer and install the drivers in the computer. If the cd is unavailable use the following steps to download the printer drivers.

Please refer to the following link to download the XP drivers for this printer: http://bit.ly/UtmjKX

NOTE: Please do not connect the printer using the USB cable to the computer prior to installing the drivers. Please choose the right operating system from the list under operating system.

Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

Connect the printer using the USB cable when prompted.

Try Scanning and printing the document from the computer.

Please post the results.

Just tried to download the driver (not sure if its the right one though, as I have - windows xp profesional version 2002 service pack 3) I tried to download the last one on the list - 1/16/2006 windows 2000# windows xp - I'm getting a window saying the site is either not working or has a programming error.

I will try again later on tonight.

Thanks

David

David,

A little hard to tell which drivers are the English drivers and which ones are other languages. Dell NEVER labeled the drivers.

Run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Download and run this patch (printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer.

Download and install these XP Drivers for the Dell 725 Printer. You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

Hi Rick, just followed your link, but it looks as if the site is down? I'm getting the following info when I click on your link and the same when I tried to download the drivers from Madhur B's link:

The website cannot display the page

HTTP 500

  Most likely causes:

•The website is under maintenance.

•The website has a programming error.

  What you can try:

    Refresh the page.

Go back to the previous page.

    More information

This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.

For more information about HTTP errors, see Help.

Not sure if it is the links or the webpage?
