Dell 3115cn leaving magenta marks on page
Hi,
I have a Dell 3115cn that has worked fine until recently, I changed the magenta cartridge like normal a couple of days ago and since then I have been getting magenta marks left all over the page when printing (see images). I have tried changing to another new cartridge and still see the same issue, I have noticed that I am also getting the same marks left on the transfer belt in the printer, I have gone through and cleaned it all but still same issue. The only time I don't get it is if I print in black and white only.
Has anyone else had this issue and know how to fix it?
Cheers,
Luke.

Hi Luke,
I don't work on printers normally but wanted to see if I could find anything to help, anyway if you print an image with more Magenta does it change anything regarding the marks? And does this marking seem to be horizontal/vertical? I couldn't tell from the image how it was printed, but here were some simple troubleshooting steps I found at this link for spots (# 12). From there you can open up the user guide from the link and try running the contamination check (pg 456 on the PDF).
Let me know if that shows anything when the ContaminationChk is run.
Best regards,
Brad

Thanks Brad, I have tried this but still getting the same issue. The contamination report showed nothing.
The marks are in a grid pattern covering the whole page. The marks are around 10mm long with around 20mm between them horizontally and 15mm vertically. It seems to make no difference if there is a lot of magenta in the print or not, it only seems to make a difference if I print in black and white.
Cheers,
Luke.

Hi Luke,
Thanks for the updates, do you know if the printer is under warranty? I will also see if there is anything I can find we can try, but what doesn't sound good is that the replacement ink has not changed the issue.
Best regards,
Brad

Hi Brad,
The printer is no longer under warranty, had it about 6 years now. It's a strange one, it has worked fine up until the magenta ran out last week and the cartridge was changed, since then I've had this issue even though I've changed the cartridge again and cleaned the printer inside, I've followed several troubleshooting guides and nothing seems to be fixing it.
Cheers,
Luke.

I am kind thinking it might need repair/replacement, from the guides I have seen and I haven't found much else to try. Let me think about it over the weekend and I will post if something changes. If you have any luck please let me know.
Best regards,
Brad

Hi -
This might be a cartridge issue. I'm having the exact same issue - just changed the magenta cartridge and it is leaving marks on the page identical to the ones in the picture lparsons83 posted. Wondering if it's a bad production lot considering the closeness in dates of both our issues. I posted pics of the cartridge showing all the labels for reference.
