Dell 1250c continues moving paper

My Dell 1250c printer recently developed the following problem:

• Single page prints without any issue
• However, when printing multiple pages, after printing and ejecting the last page, the printer continues turning all the rollers and starts clicking. This never stops and requires the printer to be turned off

I installed the latest firmware. Also opened the back and side cover and checked for any obvious blockage and everything appears clean.
