Del 720L printer on Windows 7 professional
I have been using this configuration for almost a year without any problems. However, I have recently gotten hash characters, ofter mixed with individual alphanumeric characters or even whole words of phrases (from other documents) at the top of the page when I try to print something. This can sometimes be a single line but often runs to as many as 10 lines of this. The document I am trying to print overprints these lines. I uninstalled the print driver and re-installed one from a link I found on this forum. Any ideas as to what the problem is or how to fix it?

Rick,
I did run Malwarebytes and it found no problems. Also, this is not a Word issue; printing from any program (notepad, open office, ie, etc.) all show the same problem. However, after removing the printer and uninstalling the driver once again, and running the "troubleshoot" option from the printers page of control panel (all of which I had done before) the problem is now gone. WEIRD. Anyway, I would once again like to thank you for looking into this for me. For the moment at least I'm up and running. Also, me thinks it's high time to get a new printer.
Thanks,
Howard

HowardDCat,
Does this happen when printing from a certain program, like Microsoft Word, etc...?
Have yo scanned for malware? Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware install the FREE version, not rial version, update it and do a quick scan.
If if finds anything, please post back the log.

I ran the AVG tool, and it did not report any problems. Also, I just ran a complete scan of my PC yesterday using Norton Internet Security. Also, this problem seems to occur from any program - Word, Open Office, Notebook, etc. And to be more specific, the lines look something like ####Normal######2#! etc. And thank you very much for replying to my post. I really appreciate the help !!

HowardDCat,
Did you run Malwarebytes? I suspecting the characters are either Malware or a setting in Microsoft Word.
I won't have access to look at Word until later next week.

Howard,
If the problem comes back, try reinstalling th printer using the instructions below...
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).
Links to the patch/drivers can be found at...
