Can't update Firmware for 1600N

I can't update the firmware to the recommended version V.3.10, A01!
I downloaded the file R115236.EXE and extracted it.
The update program Update1600.exe does his job without an error message.
But the version numbers on the HTML page "Printer Information" doesn't change. After the update I get the following version numbers:
Printer Revision Levels:
Printer OS Version 1.23
Engine Version 6.1.02
NIC's S/W Version V1.11(1600n)

Thanks for any help
Widi

the update is already installed :smileywink:

if it wasn't, you would see 1.10 for the network firmware.

only reason a firmware update was released, was to enable network scanning. and if the network firmware shows v1.11 than it's installed. as far as the version numbers go, i don't really know why the number listed is not the same as the one shown on the printers webserver. but either way,  it''s installed.

From what I've discovered, there are two versions of the 1600n.  The first one had only 32MB ram installed (as noted in the self test page), and takes the earlier verison firmware (1.23).  The latter has 64MB RAM and will contain the 3.10 firmware.  If you look at the firmware's README file, you'll see "Updating Firmware on the Dell MFP Laser Printer 1600n to Version 3.10/1.23", so the older units only upgrade to 1.23, the newer units upgrade to 3.10.

I've tried updating the older units but they only upgrade to 1.23.
