C1765nfw Printer Sleep Mode

Suddenly we have the same problem that has been mentioned previously in other older posts that we have to turn the printer off and then on again for it to print, it acts like it will not wake up from sleep mode.

Another discussion mentioned the following fix:

I just contacted Dell because my fax wasn't working on my C1765NFW. So the tech had me do the following reset to fix the fax problem....and IT CURED THE SLEEP/WAKE-UP issue too. Hope this helps someone else like it did for my machine:

1. Turn off the printer.

2. Turn on the power while holding down Left, Right, and Menu keys.

3. Release these keys when "CE Mode" and "Password" is displayed.

4. Press Up arrow twice and press Select (or Check Mark).

5. "CE Mode", "Printer" and "FAX/Scanner" are displayed. (Entered the CE Diag. mode.)

6. Press Select (Check Mark) on "Printer".

7. Press Down to "IOT Diag" and press Check.

8. Press Down to "Installation Set" and press Check.

9. Press Down to "Clear All NVM".

10. Press Select (Check Mark) twice to execute the test.

11 Power cycle the printer to return to the regular operating mode. (this step should happen automatically)

Once this is done, you have to re-set your basic settings (language, time zone, phone number, fax name, etc). But that is a MINOR inconvenience. My machine is now running like brand new!

 

In our case there is no option to "Clear All NVM", nor the previous step concerning an "Installation Set."
