All-in-One Printer, V313 All in One Printer, W7 Prints only the first Doc.

Hi,

Apologies if this has been answered in the past (but I can't find it).

I have just swapped from a Win XP machine to a W7 machine and now my v313 AIO printer only prints the first document.

The second document marely makes the printer hiccup but nothing happens.

I have uninstalled and installed the software from the Dell website and I am at a complete loss as to why the driver doesn't print the second document.

Luckily I still have the XP machine and it has no problems printing any document sent to the printer.

I thought I'd be cleaver and tried to copy the folder I thought contained the driver files across to the W7 machine but that didn't work either.

Please help.

Stephen,

Removing IE11 is the best solution.

The other solution is to turn off the balloon tips for the printer, but then you cannot see if the printer is printing, ink status, etc.

Start, control panel, devices and printers, right click on your printer, left click printing preferences, advance, more options.

Click on never show.

DorisDiamond,

In the December batch of Windows Updates, Microsoft installed Internet Explorer 11. IE11 had been causing printer problems.

Open Internet Explorer, click on Help, then click on About Internet Explorer. It should show the version there. If you have IE11, then go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.

Restart the computer, when prompted. Then see if your printer works.

Hi Rick,

Yes, I read that post about IE 11 and was quite pleased when the printer kicked into action after I lost ALL my hair pondering why my v313 wouldn't print. Once I'd uninstalled IE 11, the printer seemed to work ok. Then I realised that the second doc wouldn't print, it just mad ethe printer hiccup.

To get the second document to print, I have to restart the PrintService (very annoying).

Please note that restarting the print service is only necessary after the first doc prints.
