926 all in one printer, half the time it hangs on scan only
I have a dell 530 XP and using a 926 AIO printer. Work great expect half the time it hangs when I want to scan something. It gets to 98 or 99% then just stops. I have to end program, then shut down the computer and restart to try again. It scans fine for a fax. I went to the control panel and clicked on to scanners and cameras, then clicked on to scanner wizard and can scan every time using the scanner wizard.
Scanning problem is only when using Dell all in one center to try and scan.
Scanning works fine when using it for Faxing and printer works great..
Event viewer reads: Hanging application dlcxaiox.ece, version4.22.0.8, hang module hungapp, version0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.
When I click on ms link below the error:
Product: Windows OS
ID: 1002
Source: Application Hang
Version 5.2
Symbolic Name: ER_HANG_LOG
Message: Hanging application %1, version %2, hang module %3, version %4, hang address 0x%5
end

wb8slqgak,
You still have to allow the printer past the firewall. Did you try the information I suggested in the THREAD ABOVE?

wb8slqgak,

OS: Windows XP SP-3
ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Sprint, ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Sprint is installed.
MSE & AVG 2013
I forgot to mention, after a scan fails, when I try to close AIO I get "can not end program" click end to stop, I do that (end) and the AIO program is gone from the screen, but I can not power down. I click power off and nothing happens, no dialog box or anything. Computer is operable for other things, but I must do a hard shut down.

wb8slqgak,
I suspect AVG is the issue. I would first try...
Allow Wireless Printer Blocked by AVG 8.0 Firewall
If that does not work, I would then remove AVG using the AVG Removal Tool and see if the problem goes away.

Hi Rick, well it looks like it was AVG. I disabled AVG and then for two days have been scanning with the computer offline, I did about 30/40 scans and every one completed scanning. So for now, I'll say it is solved.
Thank you Gary
