3110cn Color Laser Printer on Windows 10 sometimes prints black only faint, but OK from PDF

I have a 3110cn printer, which worked fine for ages under different OS versions.  But with recent windows updates, it startet to print black only very weak (faint), but colors OK from different application, e.g. WORD. 

Converting the Word file into PDF first and then print it from Adobe Reader, it prints black and colors OK.

Are there any recommendations how to fix this to make it print fine again from all applications under latest Windows 10 (Version 2004)?
