2330DN Black border

Since a while my 2330DN printer always prints a black border. The roller next to the drum was totally black on that side, I cleaned it as mentioned somewhere on the support-site, but that doesn't solve the problem. After 1 print the roller (and the drum) are black again (on the side where the black border happens).

An example of such a print : Print Example

As can be seen in the example, the drum is only halfway it's expected lifetime.

What could be the reason for this problem ?

The issue you are experiencing with your Dell 2330DN printer printing a black border could be caused by several factors. Here are some possible causes and solutions to try:

  1. Toner cartridge: The toner cartridge may be leaking toner onto the roller and causing the black border. Try replacing the toner cartridge with a new one to see if that resolves the issue.

  2. Drum unit: The drum unit may be damaged or worn out, causing the black border. Try replacing the drum unit with a new one to see if that resolves the issue.

  3. Transfer roller: The transfer roller may be damaged or worn out, causing the black border. Try replacing the transfer roller with a new one to see if that resolves the issue.

  4. Fuser unit: The fuser unit may be damaged or worn out, causing the black border. Try replacing the fuser unit with a new one to see if that resolves the issue.

  5. Paper: The paper you are using may be causing the black border. Try using a different type or brand of paper to see if that resolves the issue.

  6. Settings: Check your printer settings to make sure they are set correctly. Make sure the paper size and type are set correctly, and that there are no margins or borders set in the print settings.

If none of these solutions resolve the issue, it may be best to contact Dell support for further assistance.
