Windows 11 on Precision 7510

I have a Dell Precision 7510.  I have the latest Windows 10 Pro updates and the latest BIOS version.  Everything is working OK.

I wanted to check whether it can support Windows 11 so I installed and ran Microsoft’s PC Health Check utility.  The utility said No for Windows 11.

I then decided to look in the BIOS settings to see if there’s anything there pertaining to TPM 2 (which is required for Windows 11).  It turns out there is and TPM 2 is enabled on my Precision 7510.  Given that, why is the PC Health Check utility saying No for Windows 11 on this computer?

I am including a photo of the TPM 2 page in the BIOS.  Everything that is checked was checked by default.  Do I have to change any of these settings to make this computer ready for Windows 11?

It's not TPM in this case. You have a pre generation 8 CPU which, at this point, is not supported in Windows 11. This may change as the specs for Windows 11 are somewhat up in the air so by RTM it may be that your system's CPU will be compatible.

Upon further investigation I have found that Windows 11 will support Gen 6 processors, which is in my Precision 7510 but only from a clean install via the ISO. An upgrade from Windows 10 is not supported. Source: Windows 11 will Work on 1st Gen Ryzen and Intel 6th/7th Gen Processors via ISO File, No Additional Workaround Needed - Hardware Times

Windows has now been released and I downloaded the ISO from Microsoft. I am getting the same message as the OP, processor not supported. Is there an ETA on when or if it will be supported? Can you point m in the direction of a resource I can monitor news about this? Thanks!~

Manage to install Win11 almost perfectly. Just 4 missing drivers under which can download and install manually using its Win10 equivalent.

From the 7510-driver support page, download and install:

  • Dell WLAN Radio Switch Driver
  • Intel Chipset Device Software

Thanks.
