WD19TB connection loose

I've seen this topic on another thread from 3 years ago, but no solution.

The thunderbolt connection from my WD19TB to my Dell Precision laptop is very loose. The slightest movement of the laptop or any movement of the cable causes the doc to disconnect. If I'm on a call, my USB speakerphone disconnects - it's a huge pain.

It's only around 3 months old. Any solution to this?

Hello,

The issue or more likely with the port on the laptop than the cable on the dock. USB-C ports are notorious for failing. I would check the Dell Support site to see if your computer has an active warranty, as you may need to send in the laptop for repairs. You can enter your service tag here to find your warranty info: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us

That being said, definitely check the connection on both the dock and the computer. If the metal part of the connector is bent or dinged, it could cause the connection to be loose. You should feel the connection set with sort of a "click" when the connection is tight. Do other USB-C devices connect securely? Do you have another USB-C port you can test?
