WD19DCS Standalone driver file or setup

I have an HP laptop without USB-C, but got an HDMI to USB-C adapter which enables data/video to go through USB-C.

The dock is recognized by the laptop as a Dell Dock, but the driver is a generic USB hub.

I tried updating the driver automatically and also downloaded the packaged in the downloads page; the package includes BIOS, I'm guessing that's why it doesn't run in an HP machine.

So, I'm thinking that if there's a simple Windows driver file available, I could try a manual update.

I haven't found that driver on the internet, so, I'm checking here. Maybe there's one from when the product just came out.

Thanks for your help.

The first question is whether or not the adapter allows a monitor to function directly (without the docking station). If it does not, neither will the docking station take a video input from the system through the USB-C port.

@ejn63 the adapter is made primarily for USB-C display connection, it seems that's why the laptop recognized a Dell Dock.

In fact, I am able to use all the other USB connections, just like a hub.

The only thing not provided is video to the connected monitors. I'm guessing the driver will enable the feature.
