WD-19 Workstation does not recognize monitor input
Hello,
I recently got access to a WD-19 docking station that I want to use to easily switch between my personal system and work laptop.
However, it does not recognise any monitor connected via it when my PC is connected via USB-C, also the LED for the power button is off. It somehow works with my work laptop though. All USB ports on the dock work with both settings. Also, there seems to be a USB related error for the workstation: "This device has stopped because it reported an error. (Code 43) Error during a request to reset the USB port".
I have tried resetting and updating the dock, installing all currently available drivers, updating my BIOS and also tried using a different USB-C port.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a working solution on this platform. So I'm asking for help here :)

You've left out the most important piece of information -- what model PC? If it's a desktop, note that very, very few desktop systems support video out even if they have a USB-C port.
If it is a notebook PC, does it support video over USB-C?

@ejn63 It is a tower PC using the Z790 AORUS ELITE AX motherboard. The manual states it is a "USB Type-C® port [..] with USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 support". How do I further identify if that is suited for video output? What would be my alternative options, a display-to-USB-C cable or alike?

It has no native video over USB support. It may be possible to use a displaylink adapter to add video support, subject to the limitations of that technology.

You have DisplayPort and HDMI which can be connected to WD19. Why do you want to use USB Type-C?
Do you have also real graphics card from NVIDIA or AMD in your desktop.
Your PC is not laptop. This is Dell Precision forum.
Dell Precision laptops have Thunderbolt 3 / 4 and USB Type-C ports which can be used to connect displays. There is picture of lightning or D depending the exact type of the C port.
