Waves MaxAudio Service Application taking CPU and RAM

Hi, the Waves MaxAudio Service Application is using over a GB of memory and is constantly using 5 to 10% CPU and High to Very High power usage.  My fan is running all the time now.  If I reboot the machine it'll be OK for a while, but if I plug headphones in and watch YT videos for a bit it jumps right back up to ridiculous levels.  I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling it to no avail.  If I kill the process I can no longer use headphones... is there any fox for this, or is there an alternative driver I can use so my headphones work without having Waves MaxAudio Service Application running?
