USB-C and HDMI port

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing persistent issues with both the HDMI and Thunderbolt ports on my Dell Precision 5530 running Windows 11 (latest BIOS installed).

HDMI Issue:

  • When I connect my TV via HDMI, the system detects it in Display Settings (correct resolution and refresh rate), but the TV shows “No Signal.”

  • The issue persists across multiple HDMI cables and TVs.

  • This behavior started after upgrading to Windows 11 — I don’t recall having this problem on Windows 10.

Thunderbolt/USB-C Issue:

  • I’m using a Dell D3000-series Thunderbolt docking puck.

  • The laptop recognizes the dock partially (some USB ports work), but fails to fully initialize the Thunderbolt driver.

  • Thunderbolt Control Center either doesn’t detect the device or fails to authorize it.

  • The same dock and TV work perfectly on my Dell Precision 7780 (work laptop), so the peripherals are not the issue.

What I’ve Tried:

  • Updated BIOS to the latest version.

  • Installed the latest Intel Thunderbolt Controller Driver and Firmware from Dell’s support page.

  • Verified Thunderbolt settings in BIOS (Security Level set to “User Authorization,” Boot Support enabled).

  • Reinstalled Intel Graphics drivers and tried older versions.

  • Disabled Fast Startup in Windows.

Would appreciate any help or suggestions — especially from anyone who’s resolved similar issues on the 5530 with Windows 11. Thanks in advance!
