Unusual problem, windows 10-bluetooth related, audio to bt drivers work, but only for Groove music and HTTP5

A brief explanation,
windows pairs and connects successfully to Bluetooth receiver
Bluetooth receiver, connected speakers and audio drivers work with only 1 application, Groove Music, and all browsers(HTML 5 player)
Plays flawlessly

PROBLEM
ALL other applications(VLC, MPC-HC, Winamp, Windows media player etc) play for 3-4 seconds and then no sound, yet the file keeps playing.
ALL applications play through laptop speakers Switching mid play is the same

IF I play Web player or Groove music and set volume to 0
ALL other applications will play correctly to the Bluetooth receiver and no sound cut out.
Basically running 2 apps at once.
If I Kill first app after a few seconds, then audio in 2nd app plays until I pause or stop.
Groove and HTTP5 enable or set something the others do not

Have even tried to use process explorer and api monitor to no avail

I have tried all available output types and settings, all drivers are up to date,

Dell M6800
Onboard Intel Dual Band Wireless AC-7260
Avontree Oasis Receiver
Windows 10

Replying to your service tag request is NOT a solution.
