U4025QW, Mac, Precision 5690, switching issue

I recently purchased a Dell Precision 5690 laptop and connected it to my Dell U4025QW ultrawide monitor which supports two video inputs: HDMI and Thunderbolt. The monitor allows switching between these inputs using a knob.

The issue I'm experiencing is that when I switch the monitor input from HDMI (connected to the Precision) to Thunderbolt (connected to a Mac running macOS), and then switch back to HDMI, the monitor no longer receives a video signal from the Precision. The monitor then goes into standby mode.

I’ve tested the monitor with two other laptops using HDMI, and it works fine, even after switching inputs.

Could there be something specific to the Dell Precision 5690, perhaps a BIOS setting or power-saving feature, that prevents the video signal from being restored when switching back to HDMI?
