Touchpad not working... after physical activity !

Hello, this IS odd, but true.... my Dell Precision 5490 (up to date OEM Ubuntu 22.04) touchpad has glimpses.. it moves little to nothing, then after minutes gradually it goes back to normal, when I arrive in the office after biking.

It doesn't have problems if I commute by bus or car.

It has always had this issue from when I received it last year, just needed some time to realize this pattern, and I didn't have this issue with previous laptops....

Of course, I initially suspected some issues on the software, looked at the process manager,  but never caught anything strange, until I realized that this relates to me just arriving from biking.

I do use the laptop with my hands dry, but there must be something related to the calibration of the touchpad.. is it something that can be changed in the software (I am not speaking about the speed of the cursor) ?

Hi

Certainly odd.

If you change the software for those few occasions, then you would have to change it back for those commute days.

Could a mouse be an alternate input for the biking days?

Does Lycra generate static electricity?
