Touch pad freeze
At times, when working on my Dell Precision 5540, I notice that if the touchpad remains inactive for a while, it occasionally freezes for a short period. To restore its functionality, I have to restart the computer, which is quite inconvenient.What possible solutions can be implemented to resolve this issue?

Hi. I had this problem and resolved it by updating thunderbolt firmware (had version 40.00, updated to 46.00), and bios update (from version 1.40.0 to 1.42.0). Not sure which one helped, but since then, the issue disappeared.
Look for "Intel Thunderbolt Controller Firmware Update Utility" and "Dell Precision 5540 System BIOS" in the "Drivers and downloads" section of "support for precision 5540" page
