Systems shut down on connecting to dock

Hi All,

I am new to this forum. Since a couple of weeks we experience a strange issue with our Precision systems combined with the WD19 and WD22 type docking stations. Sometimes when the users connect their system to the docking station, their systems shutdown (not a crash, just Windows that shuts itself down). This happens with both Windows 10 and 11 system. We tried connection the docks to other USB-C ports, updated all BIOS, Firmwares (including the dock) and drivers but the issue keeps happening.

We did find in the Windows event log that on the occasions the issue is happening, Windows detects the dock is connected and then detects a critically low battery (which is not the case). I think this is the cause for the system to go shut down.

As a work around the users found that locking their Windows before they connect their docking stations, prevents the shutdown.

Does anyone recognise this issue or knows a possible solution for this?

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

I did that, warranty was verified but still no solution. They opted to replace the mainboard, but seem not to understand that the issue is on multiple systems.
