Samsung PM9F1 SSD in my Precision 3590 is not supported by Samsung's Magician
My new precision 3590 comes with a Samsung PM9F1. Samsung's Magician does not support this SSD. So I get in contact with Dell's support and I was surprised by the answer:
"We would like to kindly bring to your attention that our support services are specifically limited to addressing hardware-related issues, and this assistance is contingent upon the terms and conditions of your warranty. Thank you for your understanding."
This SSD that has been confirmed to be being supplied to DELL, although there has been no official announcement from Samsung Electronics. It is based on the 990 PRO.
At the end all I want to know is whether this SSD needs unallocated space for over provisioning or not.

This procedure is not new, I just found a similar thread related to the PM9A1.
Exactly the same observations and frustration.
I follow the recommendations included in the "old" Samsung document relative to over-provisioning. The speed improvements are interesting.

If the system is running with IRST/Intel RAID on (F2 at powerup to check), Magician cannot access the drive. It would need to be in IRST/RAID OFF (AHCI) mode to use Magician.
Note that switching modes will render the OS unbootable unless you change the Windows settings as described below.

Thank you.
Yes, I can confirm that RAID is "on" in the setup of my 3590.
