Precision BSOD DEVICE_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
Hello,
Since a few days ago a few of our DELL Precision 5560s have started Blue screening randomly with the DEVICE_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSOD error, I note this recent thread on Microsoft forum; https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/driver-power-state-failure-bsod-dell-precision/ef49bea3-1e3f-41ab-babe-be985208db6a
Which makes me think it's a wide spread issue, is anyone else experiencing similar? We have tried updating all drivers & BIOS and power settings, including fixes on this support page but no luck so far... https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-uk/000188375/blue-screen-drive-power-state-failure-or-computer-lagging-on-xps-15-9510-and-precision-5560?msockid=2d10513fd6b7670e1d814417d775669f
Help!!!

I have the same problem and I think the problem occurred with the BIOS upgrade. Unfortunately, newer laptops have a default option in the BIOS called UEFI Capsule Firmware Updates, which allows Windows to upgrade the BIOS, and that's how my BIOS was upgraded. This can be turned off, but in a case like this and Dell doesn't allow downgrading, it may be too late. Now I can't downgrade the BIOS to version lower than 1.33.0 because the system doesn't allow me to do so, and when I try to downgrade to an older version, I get the error bios update blocked due to unsupported downgrade.
I think the error occurs when switching between two graphics cards. If I disable one of the graphics cards in the device manager, the error doesn't happen again.

@Miami_T
Which graphics card do you disable?

As an addendum. At first I thought the problem was with the Windows 11 24H2 upgrade, so I did a complete clean install of 23H2 and the same error occurs. I even went so far as to try a clean install of the Windows 10 22H2 and of course I experienced the same error.

I initially disabled Intel UHD graphics and later found out that it doesn't matter which one. I also disabled Nvidia A2000, and the error didn't occur.

For what it's worth, this is also happening on our XPS 15 9500s. Started happening about a week ago.

For one laptop, installing all available updates from DELL Command Update including latest BIOS update fixed the issue, I'm not sure what other updates were there.
For the other laptop, it already had all available updates installed including latest BIOS update, however it still has the issue and disabling Nvidia A2000 hasn't made a difference sadly,
If others are seeing this, including XPS users there must be some change pushed out that has broke this...

In my case, I have a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro 24H2 with all updates via Dell Command Update, including the latest BIOS 1.35.0, and the laptop keeps crashing with DEVICE_POWER_STATE_FAILURE unless I disable one of the graphics drivers in Device Manager. My configuration:

Are there any news on the topic? I freshly installed Win11 Pro 24H2, updated every driver I could and I still get random BSODs... At first I run a stress test with both GPUs involved and it went just fine. After a short while of using the PC, another BSOD...
