Precision 7760 i9 GPU upgrade

Hello, I wanted to understand how I can go about upgrading the GPU for my 7760. Currently on a t1200 GPU, hoping to upgrade to RTX 3080m or RTX a5000 if possible.

How would I go about acquiring one from Dell? Also aware it would require a different heatsink. And once I install it, are there additional steps that need to be performed in order to get the GPU to be recognized by the BIOS / Windows?

You can call Dell and ask for parts availability -- short of that, there are some A5000 GPUs on EBay at present (and likely heatsinks if you search).  There are also complete systems with A5000 GPUs for $1200-1400 -- so compare the cost of the GPU and heatsink alone (over $600) with the difference between what you can sell the existing system for and what a complete system will cost -- it may wind up less expensive to replace the system.

I don't think you'll find any Alienware systems with upgradeable GPUs in the same form factor, to the 3080m likely isn't available for the Precision (and won't be supported by the system firmware).  Just about all gaming systems of recent vintage use GPUs soldered to the system board.

So to confirm part T9JH2 RTX3080m for 7760 will not work on all 7760s? You could at one point purchase the 7760s with a 3080m, does this mean that the 3080m will only work on the 7760s that were sold with one?

I purchased one on Ebay along with a new heatsink, and it's not detected in the BIOS under dGPU controller. Do I need to be able to enable legacy boot devices or CSM mode in order to get it to work? Because that is not available on the current BIOS version.
