Precision 7750 screen flickering and camera not recognised by the system at all
Hi,
Got a Precision 7750 Workstation, i9 2.40 GHz CPU, 128GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000 8GB. I got it in April as a replacement for my previous laptop, a 7740 which was only a few months old when a bottle of water spilled over it (so I had to use the accidental damage protection).
I have two major, irrtating and debilitating problems with it:
1. The screen flickers quite often in Windows (at least once every couple of hours) and almost every 10 seconds or so, if I try to play any game (tried it with Beyond a Steel Sky, for example). Windows is up to date and I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed (27.21.14.6298). Cannot roll back drivers, the option is faded out in Device Manager. Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling is on. The on-board Intel graphics card is disabled from the BIOS, so the system is running exclusively on the Nvidia RTX 4000 card. The BIOS is up to date according to Dell (version 1.1.1, if I remember correctly). Driving me potty.
2. The webcam is not recognised by the system at all. It is enabled in the BIOS. Nothing. The LED next to it never lights up, there is not trace of it in the Device Manager, it's like it doesn't exist at all. Have read all the relevant troubleshooting on the net and have tried everything but nothing worked because, as far as my laptop is concerned, there isn't any camera to troubleshoot. Again, driving me potty.
It has been a ridiculously expensive laptop to buy. It's all very irritating. Please help. Thank you.
