Precision 7740 - What is the suitable type c charger for my laptop
What is the suitable wattage of type c charger for my laptop? I currently use the 240W power adapter but I want to get a type c charger rather than the 240W charger since it will be less heavier and easy to carry. I want to know what is the wattage of that type c charger that will give a performance enough to use normal software that does not require much power like using word and pdf documents.

No matter what USB-C/Thunderbolt charger you use, you're limited to 100W power delivery, which is the most you can have on this system with its Thunderbolt 3 ports.
That may get you by on low-power applications and with the discrete video turned off.
There's no way to deliver 240W to this system over Thunderbolt -- that's coming (in Thunderbolt 5, starting 2024 with new systems).
There are also GaN power supplies designed for Alienware systems that are lighter than the original, and should also work with your Precision system.
