Precision 7740 not starting with new RAM
Hello everybody,
I have DELL Precision 7740 with 32Gb Ram and I would like to add another 32Gb.
I would buy exactly same ram as I have now, but its quite hard accesible in my place and I didn't know that it could be such an issue.
I would be gratefull for any advice according to RAM addition to one that I have now or if would it be easier to replace RAM completly.
According to documentation 4x16Gb is fine for this model.
Currently I have 2x16Gb SK Hynix HMA82GS7CJR8N-VK DDR4-2666 (DataWidth 64)
I bought Kingston FURY 32Gb(2x16Gb) 2666Mhz CL16 Impact (DDR4)
Thanks in advance for any advice

Fury RAM is low-latency, designed for gaming systems with adjustable RAM timing. Your system has no such adjustable settings.
If you want Kingston RAM, use their configurator to find compatible memory.

Crucial and others have similar configurators. The Fury RAM will need to be returned - -it will never work with your system.

I like Kingston and Crucial, and have bought RAM from both in the past, for other systems.
That said, as it specifically relates to my Precision 7770, when I used their configurators and purchased the 32GB RAM they recommended for my laptop, it never worked. I ended up finding someone selling genuine Dell modules (more-expensive than Kingston/Crucial, but less money than Dell wanted) and I've used those successfully. When trying the Kingston/Crucial RAM, I also experienced the laptop simply not starting - it would power on, but never seemed to even try to POST. No beeps, either, just sat there chewing electrons like a cow chewing cud.
