Precision 7530 Laptop - BSOD (Inaccesible Boot Device) after main battery upgrade

Hello to all

I have a Precision 7530 workstation, with a 'standard' 64Wh internal battery. I've just sourced the larger 97Wh battery and fitted it.

The laptop was shut down, disconnected, hard reset to discharge any residual power and then the battery's were swapped over. Annoyingly, confusingly and frustratingly, the laptop began to boot up, the DELL logo appeared, the boot swirl appeared and span and then after about 30 seconds threw up a BSOD [Stop Code: Innaccesible_boot_device]

I was very surprised. Rebooted. No change. Next reboot it recognised that the computer didn't boot and attempted an automatic repair. Restarted. No change.  I ran through this sequence a few times, with no change. The battery is present and showing in BIOS, and the computer was charging it during these start attempts as it was about 74% of capacity. In the end, it was clear that, for whatever reason, the new battery was causing the problem.

The laptop was shut down again, and old battery put back in - computer fired into life with no problem at all. Clearly, the new battery is causing a problem.

Tried the new battery again. Exactly the same BSOD as before.

Gave up, put the old battery back in and have parked it for now to determine if there's a fault with the actual battery, or if there's something other setting or change that needs to be set before the system will accept the new, higher capacity battery?

The old battery is a genuine battery. The new is also genuine DELL [NYFJH]

I've googled the BSOD in combination with a battery upgrade and can't find a thing! Anyone got any ideas? I really want this to work, as I need the increased battery duration for my system.

Many thanks for any replies.
