Precision 7520 - 64GB of DDR4-3200 RAM
Hello!
I've upgraded my workstation to 4 RAM modules of this type:
Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 CL22
The memory is recognized and the laptop boots, but is unstable.
Running memtest86+ reveals LOTS of errors.
The RAM modules are NOT faulty, I've tested them error-free in another machine.
I suspect it's because of the high speed (3200MHz) which the laptop does not seem to be rated for.
Can I set the RAM to 2400MHz manually? I thought the laptop would automatically chose the highest supported speed, i.e. 2400MHz or maybe 2666MHz.
When I run 2 of those modules together with 2 slower 8GB modules (for 48GB total) it runs rock solid (stable) at 2400MHz.
Thank you in advance!

Usually, the memory speed will be adjusted to match what the CPU is rated for. Therefore, the use of higher speed memory may not be the problem. According to your system specifications, 64 GB is configured for ECC RAM at 2400 Hz. While the configuration for non-ECC RAM is 32 GB at 2667 Hz.
You can test with a 32 GB setup to see if it will fix the issue.
