Precision 5860 doesn't recognize bootable SD card on the SD card reader slot.

Media-card reader One SD-card slot (front) on the new Precision 5860 XL Tower doesn't recognize the bootable media. When I insert an SD bootable media it doesn't show up in the one time boot menu to select. However, the SD card is detected in the File explorer. Raised case with Dell support and haven't been able to get any resolution.

You need to enable the SD card read-only boot option in BIOS settings.

@Chino de Oro Hi, tried this setting but didn't fix the issue.

It could be an issue with how the SD card was prepared.

@Chino de Oro I don't think so, the same SD card works well on the Dell 5820 Tower. I noticed that Secure Digital (SD) Card Boot option is not available in the Dell5860 Boot configuration, the same setting can be seen in the Dell 5820 tower. I'm not sure if the Dell 5860 is missing something in the BIOS setting as they claim in their manual.

The below setting is not to be seen on 5860.

There is option to select Enable or Disable SD card read-only boot in the 5860 Boot Configuration.  You can test the card reader with other SD cards containing data for its functionality.  If it can read data in SD cards, it should be able to read a bootable SD card.
