Precision 5750 lock screen timeout-idle timer
Spoiler
Precision 5750 laptop, new out of the box, Match 2021. Nothing installed, required settings only. The laptop logs out after less than a minute of idle time. Requires a password to log in. I have changed all power settings(sleep/hibernate), including the lock screen timeout setting that requires a regedit change just to be viewable/changeable. Any thoughts where this is coming from?

Check in the Dell Optimizer, Proximity Sensor, Turn Off "Walk Away Lock" or change the number of seconds under the Set Lock Timer.

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

smiley2.0 thank you for your response. This corrected the issue. I am a little surprised that this is a feature. Is this level of security necessary for a logout in 1 minute idle time? It is not made clear the optimizer is where this setting is coming from and most would likely go to sleep/timeout settings in Windows 10. Unless I am not like most. I was contacted via private message by Dell, yes, responded with pertinent information, no response from Dell. Received a survey asking for my service experience instead.
I hope this thread helps someone else. I found no other posts that referenced the optimizer app as the cause for a 1 minute screen timeout/proximity sensor. Seems liek it should not be a default setting for an out of box laptop.
