Precision 5570 Headphone Jack not detected

An engineer visited today and replaced the bottom cover but it did not fix the issue.  I realised that if you plug in the headphones before boot, then it does work.  That sounds like software to me rather than hardware, but they have booked a mother board replacement anyway.

Another engineer visited yesterday and replaced the data board then the motherboard.  Neither fixed the problem.  After leaving the laptop hobbled due to the TPM change, I had to re-install Windows which finally fixed the issue.  However, if I had known I was going to have to re-install Windows before the engineer left, I would have asked him to put the original motherboard back in.
