Precision 5550 - Windows 11 only: Display powers off/on when plugging/unplugging charger
I searched and already checked/tried the solution of making sure the display refresh rate was the same on battery and on a charger. I even changed both to a different (matching) setting, but it didn't make a difference.
However, this behavior is only occurring in Windows 11, not on Windows 10.
I checked the settings in Precision Optimizer and they are the same in both operating systems.
All drivers are up-to-date (as per Dell Command Update.)
This happens no matter which charger I use.
Anyone have any clue as to what might be going on?

I have finally solved this issue thanks to user rwuduke on Reddit.
In Windows 11, I went to Settings --> Display and turned off HDR. That was it. No more screen flickering or flashing.

I'm not seeing the "Get Help Now" icon on the right or anywhere else on the screen. Can you send me a screenshot of where I am supposed to find it?

waqqas31,
Thank you for letting us know that the Get Help Now icon is not showing up. I will report this to the team that is responsible for the icon.

waqqas31,
The reason the GHN icon is not showing up on this thread is because it has not been turned on for Precision workstations. I have notified them and they will get that turned on. Thank you again for letting us know.

Thank you mods for the input so far.
However, my issue is still not resolved. I called in to Tech Support and after running Diagnostics, the best advice I have gotten is to update my video drivers in Windows 11, which I did, but the problem persists.

Ok, here's a new finding:
In Windows 11, if I change the driver of the "Intel UHD Graphics" adapter to "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter", then this behavior stops.
However, then graphics performance suffers (understandably). For example, even a 4K60 video in Youtube stutters noticeably.
Since there is also an nVidia Quadro T1000, I tried disabling the Intel UHD Graphics altogether, and the display-flashing behavior did not occur, but then Windows recognizes the Display as connecting to "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" and not the nVidia adapter. The 2D performance reflects that as well (i.e. it's not good.)
Even when the Intel adapter was enabled (as normal), I tried changing a setting in the Intel Graphics Command Center within System --> Power called "Panel Self Refresh". I would set it to "Off" or "On" for both "On Battery" and "Plugged in" modes, but neither configuration made a difference.
Anyone have any ideas of what to try next?
