Precision 3561: WWAN Slot As M.2 SATA?
The WWAN slot in a Precision 3561 is basically an M.2 slot that accommodates a 2242 sized card. In my Lenovo, I can use the WWAN slot with an M.2 SATA NGFF SSD. I have tried this in a Precision 3561, but it is not recognized.
Anyone have luck using a 3561's WWAN slot as a receptacle for an M.2 STA NGFF SSD?

I just installed a KingSpec NE-256 2242 into the WWAN slot and it functions. It is a B+M NVMe M.2 SSD. Make sure the WWAN option is turned on in the BIOS and the OS saw the new drive under Disk Manager. You cannot boot off of this disk and it cannot be larger than 256 GBs; however.

The system is too new to have SATA support -- your best chance (and it's not guaranteed) is an NVMe drive. And bear in mind that a drive install there, even if it's recognized, will work as storage only - it cannot be used as a boot drive.
