Precision 3561 No Drive Detected/BitLocker Key Required Screen
Have a client with a precision 3561 laptop that yesterday started making the BIOS beeping noise indicating a hardware issue and after the user rebooted it, got a no harddrive detected. After rebooting again, got the bitlocker key required blue screen to unlock a few times after trying to hard reboot it before he somehow managed to bypass it and was able to boot into Windows.
By the time I checked it, I don't see any drive errors or such with both the manufacturer drive diagnostic and the Dell bios diagnostics. Windows is up to date and so is the BIOS.
Did noticed the Intel TPM Provisioning Service isn't running and when I try to restart the service, it stops immediately. Event logs indicate TPM hardware failed to execute a TPM command. Also tried to uninstall the TPM from device manager and let windows/device manager reinstall but same issue with TPM service not wanting to start.
Would this all indicate the drive might be going bad? Ran into something similar and it was the drive that was replaced so wondering if it the same here.

I'd back up (image) the boot drive while you still can....
If the motherboard coin cell battery is old, you might want to remove it, then reset BIOS and install a fresh one before further troubleshooting. Probably a CR2032 with Molex connector. If nothing else, you'd rule that battery out.
After you replace the battery, make sure Secure Boot and TPM are enabled in BIOS setup. Secure Boot is disabled by default and it may be required for TPM to work.

The laptop itself is only 2 years old. I can see about replacing the CMOS battery as a precaution as well.
Anyway to figure out what the part number is for the molex connector CMOS battery. Want to make sure I get the right one. Checking the manual, it is a molex connector one.

Clearing BIOS and replacing the battery will rule those out as part of the problem. Then, if the prob recurs you can focus attention elsewhere.
Should be an industry-standard CR2032 battery with Molex connector, but confirm that for yourself. So you don't need a Dell P/N, assuming Dell even sells them.
Buy it from anywhere you want. Make sure the polarity (A or B) of the new connector matches what's in there now. You can check the diagram here to see the difference between polarities.
