Max memory Precision 3480
I was reading the manual for my Precision 3480 which is using DDR5. Back in the day of the manual 2x32GB was all there is. Intel figures 2x48GB which is now available. Now comes DDR5 2x64GB SO-DIMM. Now Dell has updated the firmware several times but I am not sure if the machine will POST with 2x64GB installed.

Intel may certify the CPU for that, but had nothing to do with the design of the mainboard.
Crucial will generally support more than Dell quotes for the system, as it tests RAM in house. Not in this case.

2x64GB is available now and I expect eventually to see 2x128GB as JEDEC manuals support that but market realities for SO-DIMM are currently topping out at 2x64GB
