Latest WD22TB4 updates (Jan 2024) causing high CPU in Win 11 "System" process on Precision 5770

Hi, all,

In early January, I applied all the latest updates to my Precision 5770 (BIOS, drivers, etc.) and also the latest updates to my WD22TB4 dock.  From the time I applied those updates in early January until today, the CPU ran at roughly 4.6GHz and 20% of total CPU AT IDLE with the dock connected instead of the usual 1.1GHz and 1% of total CPU that it had been in the past.  If I disconnected the dock, the CPU dropped back to the usual.  However, the problem always returned whenever I reconnected the dock.   Today I tried the latest dock (firmware) update from Dell (v1.1, dated 31Jan2024) and hoped that would fix the problem.  Well it didn't, so I spent a few hours today to see what I could do.  To sum it up, when I use the Dell-provided Jan2024 driver for the A3000 card (31.0.15.4609_A08, aka 546.09), I get this problem.  However, if I downgrade to the Dell-provided Aug 2023 driver (31.0.15.3209_A07, aka 532.09), the problem goes away.  If I upgrade to A08 again, the problem returns.  And the problem goes away if I also use NVidia's latest (mobile) driver for the A3000 (551.23).  551.23 works well but it isn't Dell-provided/supported; however, I've decided to stay with it until the next Dell-provided driver is released in roughly the May-June timeframe -- unless Dell does something before then.  Hope this helps if anyone else is having the same problem.
