Laptop intermittently won't charge with OEM charger
Since about a month ago when I replaced my original OEM charger with a new one, my Precision 3591 would periodically give me an error that my charger wasn't recognized, and therefore wouldn't, well, charge. Unplugging and replugging it would solve it, but the instances have increased in frequency. SFC and bios hardware scans haven't helped or detected anything, and buying another OEM charger of the same model hasn't helped. Curiously, the error does not occur when I plug in a weaker non-OEM charger, nor does the error occur when I plug the OEM charger into any other laptop.
Any suggestions? I can get the motherboard swapped out, but I am not sure if it is a motherboard issue.

Try another USB-C jack -- does the same issue happen with it?

@ejn63 Yep, tried it on both of the two USB-C ports. It doesn't make a difference.

Both ports strongly suggest it's the Thunderbolt controller that's the issue - meaning it's time for either a replacement mainboard or a visit to a shop that can do board level repairs. If you're in the US, for the latter try parts-people.com.
