Keyboard lag / Intermittent keyboard

I am experiencing a problem with my laptop keyboard. After a while of the computer being turned on, often after I have left the computer in sleep mode for a while, the keyboard starts lagging. If I type at normal speed it only registers approximately a third of the keys pressed. For example, if I now try to write “my keyboard isn’t working” in normal speed, it comes out like this: my kyboard is'twring. If i write at a VERY slow speed, it works.

This time, the problem occurred like this: I was starting my laptop for the first time in the morning and the low battery warning popped on the startup screen, so I plugged in the charger before proceeding the startup. The laptop started up fine, the computer was on for about one minute, and the keyboard worked fine, then the computer crashed. After starting the computer again, the keyboard was lagging.

An external keyboard works fine, and the "on-screen keyboard" also works.

If I restart the computer, it works for a while. On some days the problem can occur 5 times. I have tried reinstalling and updating the keyboard drivers, updated bios, ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, disabled filter keys and so on. The problem keeps reoccurring. I know that the battery of my laptop is in bad shape, so I’m planning a change of that. Could something like that cause the problem?

My laptop is a Dell Precision 5540, with Windows 11 Pro.
