It is time to replace my Precision 7720, but...

I need a new computer. My Precision 7720 is getting a little long in the tooth.

I just spent two days getting a small recording studio back on line after Microsoft's January update broke their digital audio recording gear. The fix for that disaster busted the Thunderbolt ports which killed of the MADI inputs.

We finally broke down and tried Linux Mint and low and behold, everything is back. It took some tweaking, googling, and there is a finely woven tapestry of obscenities hanging over that studio even now. But it works.

I can no longer trust Microsoft. So I'm having to make a lot of changes.

But the problem is your telephone sales staff will not sell me the computer I want without Windows 11 installed on it. The Dell Linux computers I have been able to find on your web site are all kind of anemic for my purposes.

My question: Is there a way to get the computer I want preferably with Linux on it or sans OS?

If you can't do that, it's a shame, but it is your company and you have your reasons. But I will have to look elsewhere for the new machine.

@DELL-Cares auto response

I did. Just today. Didn't like the answer I got. The person on the phone in your India call center told me no.

I thought I would try here before I took my $4500 somewhere else.

Hello @4570WentBoom , have you look at these mobile workstations?  You can select Ubuntu Linux instead of Windows OS.  Am just a community member, not work for Dell.

I need an 18" display. The people on the phone said I cannot have that one in Linux.

The 7780 might work for me, but the man on the phone said it was not available in Linux. The web site says it is available. Got to wonder who dropped the ball.
