How are Precision 5690 laptops THIS bad?
I have an Precision 5690 and have tried various models of XPS over the decades. I prefer PC laptops because I can use them for both work and play, I can also use Linux which is only available on PC laptops.
Work issued me a MacBook Pro some years ago but I have recently gone back to my Precision and am shocked. Dell... you have a QA team, right? You have tried a MacBook Pro, right?
My Dell laptop is fine when used as a desktop, hooked up to a keyboard/mouse and monitor, but as a laptop, I am legitimately shocked at how bad it is.
Using the trackpad and keyboard feels like I'm typing with oven mitts on. It technically works but is borderline unusable for longer than 15 minutes. I can see an attempt to emulate the MacBook style, with the large trackpad, but it's incredibly imprecise, feels laggy, not tactile and cheap.
I actually feel like I'm better off with a mini PC and portable monitor/keyboard/mouse as this is barely a laptop.
For the love of god, give us an alternative to MacBooks. Literally, copy the MacBook Pro EXACTLY, throw in an AMD strix halo chip, and call it a day. As a consumer, I can't justify buying anything other than a MacBook and I hate it.
