Four Precision 3581, case breaking

<You replied to an old hinge thread. Starrted your own thread. DELL-Admin>
I have four laptops like this at my company, all with the same defect—a cracked case. Dell refused to replace the case. They claim it’s the user’s fault. I’m going to start buying HP equipment. These are the last Dell computers in my company, and two years ago I bought over 50 units of various models for a lot of money.

What would be the exact model of Latitude? Damage like that doesn't just occur randomly. Cracked components would indeed typically be seen a user caused. Units with accidental damage coverage may be eligible for repair depending on how a unit was damaged. See the below article on our damage policy:

<Updated model in title. Moved to Precision Laptops board. DELL-Admin>
Precision 3581. Unfortunately, these issues occurred by chance, since 3 or 4 people wouldn’t have damaged the laptop in exactly the same way. That’s ridiculous. The casings show no signs of being dropped or hit. The fault lies with the poor quality of the casing, the empty space between the layers, and a screw that was tightened too much. You don’t have to be an engineer to figure that out. Dell is only causing trouble for itself with this behavior, because it’s losing customers.

@Damian CoBouw Polska could you share additional photos of where each unit cracked? At this time, I do not see any documentation indicating this is a known issue.

I am attaching photos of the damaged laptops. The service tag number of each device is shown in each photo.

@Damian CoBouw Polska I've had these reviewed and after cross checking with other reported cracks, this unfortunately would still be seen as accidental damage. This would not be covered by the standard warranty. I would have to recommend contacting the out of warranty teams for a repair if you choose to do so.
