FirePro m6100 and AMD Radeon HD 8950, GPU Error, GPU doesn't load and is not recognized
Hi , I have the issue for 6 months now and have been trying to solve it but I am not able to. I have Windows 10 installed on my Dell Precision M6800 Mobile Workstation Core i7, 4th Gen 4800MQ 2.7 GHz.
I was wondering if anybody have found a solution to the problem regarding the GPU Error Not Detected Automatically. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling latest drivers both automatically (Windows 10 does it itself) and manually (I do myself from AMD website). But I couldn't find a solution.
I have the "Dell Support Assistant", it recommends, downloads and installs AMD FirePro m6100. But on "Windows Update" in settings, I see AMD Radeon HD 8950 to be installed. I am confused which one is it?
No matter which one of the two I have installed, the problem is; both of them switch off everytime I turn ON the system which is quite frustrating. I don't see the GPU in Device Manager.
When I plug the system in for charging, I have to restart it and get to BIOS using the F2 key. There I press the "Load Defaults" button in the lower right corner and then "Exit". The system restarts and the GPU sometimes gets detected. I can see it in device manager as longs as the system is ON. When I switch the system off and the next time I turn it ON, the system goes off for a second "possibly reverting to some other settings" and it gets turned ON. Then I open device manager, under the display adapter, the GPU doesn't show up.
I have tried my best but I didn't find any solution. If anybody can help, that would be appreciated
Thanks, Asim.

Hello, to resolve this problem, go to the AMD website and get the drivers for Windows 10 64-bit for DELL (Radeon™ Pro Software for Enterprise on Dell Mobile Revision Number 21.Q2.1) : https://www.amd.com/fr/support/downloads/drivers.html/graphics/firepro/firepro-mobility-series/firepro-m6100-mobility.html . When installing the drivers, don't check the box that offers to reset the graphics card to factory mode and restart the computer. I also selected the minimum installation in the settings. The drivers install and the FirePro M6100 is recognized, and only then do I agree to restart the computer. Good luck.
