Does not automatically boot from USB disk

Hi,

I'm having trouble booting from USB after I updated my BIOS.

Previously, what I did was setting up my USB disk in BIOS and put it to the first position in the boot list. When i restart the PC and having the USB disk plugged in, it automatically booted from that disk. Since the last BIOS update, it doesn't do it anymore and only boots from the internal disk or if I press F12 and select my disk manually.

Is it now forbidden to boot up my USB disk automatically?

You can revert to previous BIOS version if automatically USB boot is required for your usages.  Updating BIOS should be an improvement to the system, not creating new issue.

And which option in BOOT in the Dell Bios should be selected to get the system to see the boot drive as present, then what should be done after it sees the drive: Start PXE over _____. I chose first choice as IPV6, then IPV4, then Windows system boot, but it keeps booting into the Windows login screen.

Re:  which option in BOOT in the Dell Bios should be selected to get the system to see the boot drive as present, then what should be done after it sees the drive: Start PXE

Upon powering up the system, immediately tapping F12 until a message (on top right) open one time boot menu.  On the menu, it should list all the boot options and boot drives, including USB drives.

Alternatively, immediately tapping on F2 at power up to access BIOS menu.  For most of users with Windows boot drive and depending on the boot mode, UEFI boot will likely set Windows Boot Manager as the first boot and will scan the system for EFI partition on the Windows boot drive.  If the boot mode was set to Legacy or legacy option ROM was enable, actual drive name will appear in boot order for selection.

PXE boot or IPV6, IPV4 are referring to network boot.  It scans over the connected network for options.  This option can be removed (delete) from boot order selection.
