Dell Thunderbolt Dock WD19TBS Power adapter 180 Watt - irritating sounds
Hi, last week I got Dell Latitude 5521 and Dell Thunderbolt Dock WD19TBS Power adapter 180 Watt. Having turned laptop on I noticed continuous irritating sounds from the docking station. One resembles the sound of the fan - it is continuous sound present all the time while laptop is powered on. Other sound resembles the sound of electrical arcing which is also continuous while laptop is powered on.
What can be done here? Docking station is some 0.5m from me and these sounds are something I would like to get rid of if that is technically possible (I have heard that some docking stations are practically silent).
Thank you very much in advance.

The system must be used (it's a 2021 model), but the question is whether the dock is brand new or whether it too was a used device. If it's brand-new, call Dell and either arrange a refund or replacement (there's no point troubleshooting a device that's faulty out of the box).
If the dock was purchased used or third party, contact your seller for their return/replacement policy.

Both were not used before 100% so I am the very first user. To be honest for docking station costing this much I expected silent work. This is a big disappointment unless there is some solution.

It won't be silent under the best of conditions, since it does have an internal fan.

Yesterday I noticed more odd behavior - fan sound was there even when laptop was on stand-by. Having started working on laptop fan sound disappeared for several minutes and came back again - sound resembling electrical arcing is always present. Hardly everything I depicted here can be considered as normal.

If the docking station is behaving that way, have it replaced, or have a refund issued and purchase a different model.
